About
Volunteer readers read aloud to children aged 4 and over in English at the Philipp-Schaeffer-Bibliothek in Mitte, a short walk from Rosenthaler Platz. Children and their parents discover picture books together and are simply meant to enjoy the stories; no German is needed to follow along. Admission is free and no registration is required, so families can drop in. Sessions run on Fridays from 17:00 to 18:00 during school term (published dates include 6 November and 4 December 2026). The same library also hosts story hours in Spanish, Russian and Portuguese on other dates.
