Little Voices, Big Rhythm! - South African Music and Movement for Children

About

A weekly music and movement group for children aged 3-5 at the Global Music Academy in Neukölln, taught in English by the South African singer and composer Gugulethu Duma (DUMAMA). The class blends South African vocal traditions with somatic play, call-and-response singing, rhythm eggs and copy-cat games, so children find their voices and sing together in a warm, welcoming circle; parents are warmly invited to join in. The group meets every Tuesday at 16:00 for 45 minutes. A trial lesson costs €20; a monthly place is €40 in a larger group (7 or more children) or €52.50 in a small group (4-6 children). The Global Music Academy is a world-music school at Wildenbruchstraße 80 in the Weserkiez in Neukölln, and it also runs children's courses in balafon, tabla, South Indian drums, Carnatic singing and flute, and Bharatanatyam dance.
