About
A 90-minute hands-on workshop where children earn a 'screwdriver licence' and then open up a real device - a radio, a hairdryer, a printer or a stereo - to find out what is inside and what each part does. It starts with a safety briefing, then the group works with real tools on appliances with no power, so children learn to handle tools properly without risk; interesting parts may be taken home. Groups are small (at most eight children), for ages 5-12, with no prior knowledge needed and all tools and appliances provided. Runs in German at the Lernkollektiv workshop in Prenzlauer Berg, a few minutes from U2 Senefelderplatz. Each session costs EUR 25 and can be booked on its own; a girls-only version of the same course runs on separate dates. Clothing that may get dirty and closed shoes are recommended.
