About
A free Mexican Day of the Dead afternoon at the Instituto Cervantes in Berlin-Mitte, staged with the Mexican association Calaca e.V. and already listed by the institute as one of its library activities for this season. Día de Muertos is the Mexican festival that welcomes the dead back for one night a year, and the Instituto opens its house on Rosenstraße for four hours of it: the published outline is workshops, theatre and a concert, so families move around, make things and listen rather than sitting still for one long show. The whole afternoon runs in Spanish, which means children growing up with Spanish hear the tradition in their own language and children learning Spanish meet the culture behind it. Entry is free; you only need to book in advance through the institute's own ticketing page. Sunday 8 November 2026, 10:00 to 14:00, Rosenstraße 18, 10178 Berlin.
