About
A Ukrainian Saturday school where children keep up the language and culture of their family: lessons take place every Saturday morning, starting at 10:00 or 11:00 depending on the class, and each lesson lasts 45 minutes with a 10-minute break. Classes 1 to 4 learn Ukrainian language, literature and art; classes 5 to 10 add Ukrainian history. Children can also join a dance club from class 1 and the 'School of Inner Strength' from class 4. Everything is taught in Ukrainian and the curriculum is adapted to bilingual children. A place in the first class is open to children who already attend a regular Berlin school; classes have at most 15 children. The monthly contribution is €35 for one child and €55 for two, and children of Ukrainian armed-forces members attend free of charge. After registration and subject to availability, families are invited to a free trial day before signing the school agreement.
