About
The DSO's radio3 children's concert series brings primary-school children into the Grosser Sendesaal of the Haus des Rundfunks on a Sunday at noon, and this programme, 'A Great Love', is built around excerpts from Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet. Sora Elisabeth Lee conducts the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and radio3 host Christian Schruff leads through the music, inviting the children to listen closely, join in, have a say and experiment. From 10:30 the Open House lets children meet the orchestra's instruments up close: string, woodwind and brass ensembles play and introduce what they hold, and children can also have their faces painted, do handicrafts and sing. The concerts are later broadcast on radio3 in 'Klassik für Kinder'. For ages 6 to 12, about an hour, and spoken in German. Adults €15, children €6 - the child ticket is chosen under 'Kaufart / Kartenpreis webdso' once a seat is picked. Masurenallee 8-14 in Charlottenburg, near U-Bahn Theodor-Heuss-Platz.
