About
Abadá-Capoeira-Schule-Berlin e. V. runs capoeira classes for children from age 3 at its academy in Kreuzberg and at a second hall in Prenzlauer Berg. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art mixing dance, acrobatics, music and play: children learn the movements, sing the traditional Brazilian songs and try the instruments (berimbau, pandeiro, atabaque). Every session ends with a 'roda', where the children play capoeira together. Classes are split by age (3-6, 4-6 and 6-10) so the little ones train with their own group. It is a fun way to build coordination, rhythm and confidence while getting to know Brazilian culture.
