Picture-Book Cinema in Kurdish and German

About

A bilingual picture-book cinema afternoon at the Mittelpunktbibliothek Wilhelm Liebknecht / Namık Kemal. Two educators from the bilingual Kita Pîya in Kreuzberg, Nesibe and Xemsê, read the picture book Dr. Jîjo by Sîya Sitav aloud in Kurdish (Kurmancî) and in German while the pages are projected on the screen. The story is about a visit to the doctor and the fears many children bring to it, and it gives families a way to talk about those fears afterwards. The reading is aimed at children from about three years, admission is free, and nobody needs to sign up - you simply come along. The library entrance is on Adalbertstraße and is step-free.
