About
A free picture-book cinema afternoon at the Mittelpunktbibliothek Wilhelm Liebknecht / Namık Kemal in Kreuzberg, on Monday 2 November 2026 at 16:30. Two readers tell the Russian folk tale "Kolobok", the little round dough ball that comes to life, runs away from home and meets one forest animal after another, until a cunning fox finally outwits it. Zulfia reads the story in Russian while her library colleague Lydia reads it in German, and the illustrations are projected onto a screen, so children follow the tale in pictures as well as in words. The Stadtteilmütter are mothers with their own migration history who accompany and advise families in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg; this afternoon is a guest visit from that project. No registration is needed, entry is free, and families can simply drop in. Part of the library's Monday picture-book cinema series, which is aimed at children from about three years old.
