About
The Swedish congregation in Berlin opens its Advent bazaar on the first weekend of Advent, on the church grounds in Wilmersdorf. Stalls sell Swedish handicrafts, Christmas table linen, decorations and Swedish food, with a cafeteria and snack stands, and on Saturday and Sunday afternoon the Lucia choir sings in the Swedish tradition, with the light queen in white and candles in her hair. Entry is 2 EUR at the gate and children up to 12 are free, and there is a lift down to the market. The whole market takes place outdoors, so dress for the weather. It is a relaxed way to spend an Advent afternoon with small children, and the U-Bahnhof Berliner Straße (U7, U9) is a few minutes away.
