About
St Martin's evening on a working farm museum. From 16:30 children and families gather with their lanterns on the Gutshof of the Domäne Dahlem; at 17:00 a short open-air service tells the story of St Martin and everyone sings Martin and lantern songs with the brass ensemble of the Kirchengemeinde Berlin-Dahlem. Then the whole group walks with its lights across the historic estate, past fields, stables and the old manor house, and afterwards food and drinks are sold on the farmyard. Entry is free and no registration is needed: bring your own lantern and dress warm, because the whole evening is outdoors. The parish of Berlin-Dahlem organises it together with the Domäne Dahlem foundation, which runs the open-air museum and farm on the former manor estate, and it is spoken and sung in German. Königin-Luise-Straße 49, right by U-Bahn Dahlem-Dorf; the ground is partly cobbled and unpaved, so sturdy shoes and a pram with big wheels help.
