About
Berlin's big fairy-tale festival returns for its 37th year, from 5 to 22 November 2026, under the motto 'Zauberflöte und Sternenharfe – Musik in Märchen und Geschichten' (magic flute and star harp: music in fairy tales and stories). For just over two weeks, libraries, cultural centres, small theatres and museums across the city turn into storytelling venues: readings, storytellers, puppet and stage versions of fairy tales, and music woven into the stories. Many of the events are free and need no ticket, others are paid and some are already booked out, so the festival's programme page is the place to filter for a date, a district and the age it suits - family shows for the youngest sit alongside programmes for school classes. Individual events are listed on Peki separately when they are worth a trip of their own; this listing is the festival itself, so a family can see what is on near them on any day of the run.
