About
Fairy-tale theatre for children and families at the Galli Theater in Berlin-Mitte, in the Heckmann-Höfe courtyard off Oranienburger Straße. The children's programme has two formats: Mitspieltheater, participation theatre for the whole family, and Märchentheater, fairy-tale plays told from age 4. Plays include Aschenputtel (Cinderella), Rotkäppchen (Little Red Riding Hood), Rumpelstilzchen, Dornröschen, Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten and Der kleine Muck. Roughly every two weeks the theatre also performs in English as Storyacting, most recently Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood, so families who do not speak German can join. Shows usually run on Saturdays and Sundays in the early afternoon, with some Friday evening performances, and the theatre sits in the Heckmann-Höfe courtyard, within walking distance of S-Bahn Oranienburger Straße. Tickets are €10–12 per person and are sold through Eventim and Reservix as well as at the theatre. The provider's own site is in German, with an English-language performance series. The participation theatre is open to everyone: no previous theatre experience and no German needed.
