St Martin's Lantern-Making and Lantern Parade

The Rathaus-Center Pankow is holding its first big St Martin's lantern parade, and the afternoon begins with free lantern-making inside the shopping centre. From 14:00 children can get creative at the craft tables and build their own glowing lanterns, which then have their big appearance in the evening. At 18:00 families meet in front of the Rathaus-Center for well-known lantern songs, and at about 18:15 the colourful procession sets off, accompanied by the Spielmannszug Pankow e.V. brass band, through the neighbourhood and around the Bleichröderpark. Everything is free and no registration is needed - come with a lantern you made, your favourite lantern from home, or simply with the pleasure of singing along. It suits the whole family. The centre sits right next to Pankow's S- and U-Bahn station.
