About
A family day out behind a steam locomotive on the second Advent weekend. The museum train leaves Berlin-Lichtenberg station with the express steam locomotive 03 2155, runs through the east of Berlin and on to Bernau, where families have around three hours for the Christmas market in the historic old town inside the town walls, about 700 metres from the station. An ice rink and fairground rides are there for the children, and on the journey the Nikolaus travels with the train and hands out sweets to the children. The train has a buffet car with drinks, warm sausages, mulled wine and children's punch, and seats are reserved together for each booking. The same trip runs on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026, departing from and returning to Berlin-Lichtenberg. Tickets are booked through the association's online booking system.
